Deep Purple

Uncategorized

All builds start as a pile of unfinished oversized parts which need to be fitted together, and this one was not an exception. Except it actually started as a small piece of copper Damascus steel. Which was machined to a trigger blade, sanded, polished and fire blued.

But the trigger has to be installed on a gun, right? Well, now here comes that pile of parts. I went through my parts bins and collected just enough stuff for another build.

I still had a little bit of that copper Damascus left, so I decided to make a custom front sight and a recoil spring plunger out of it.

And the rest of the build was more or less typical to what I usually do. The front and rear straps were stippled, all small parts were polished and fire blued, the frame and slide were rust blued and this is the final result. I called it “Deep Purple”.
