I decided to put a red dot back on my Pardini, and I really like the Sig Romeo 5, it’s small and lightweight and would work really well for this application. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any base for it that would fit the Pardini dovetail. If only I had a mill and a piece of aluminum…Oh, wait!
I forgot to take pictures of the machining process so you have to take my word for it. It was a fairly simple project, I used the Brownells 60 degrees dovetail cutter to make clamping teeth, after the whole piece was machined, I used a slitting saw to cut off the clamping part and then cleaned both sides of the cut with the endmill. After tapping the clamp screw hole with M4 tap the base was done.
I didn’t want to mix any Cerakote for such a small part, and I kinda liked the silver look of it, so I decided to anodize it. The process was very simple, 18 volt, 0.5 amp for about 45 minutes did the trick.

The laser did a good job marking the anodized surface. This is how it looks like mounted on my gun.
